CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

Craig and Moffat County offer a true smorgasboard for cross country skiing enthusiasts. Experiences range from 1-2 miles of groomed trails at the Yampa Valley Golf Course with views of bald eagles, fox dens, elk and duck ponds along the Yampa River to the pristine back country of Black Mountain and Morapos Creek for more experienced skiers. There is also 10 miles of bike trails at Elkhead Reservoir that provide an enjoyable experience for intermediate level skiers.

In early February, you can join the locals at the golf course for the annual "Moonlight Delight" where there is always an abundance of fun and laughter. Rental equipment is available in Craig. Contact Moffat County Visitor Center for more information or request the cross-country skiing brochure.
