BIKING in Northwest Colorado
Several hundred miles of trails are designated, planned or under construction . Completed trails include Elkhead Reservoir, Cedar Mountain, and portions of the Yampa Valley Trail. The Yampa Valley Trail links Steamboat Springs to Craig and continues west through Maybell and Dinosaur National Monument. The Dinosaur Trail links Dinosaur National Monument with the towns of Dinosaur and Rangely.
In addition, there are hundreds of miles of backcountry roads and trails throughout the county, including BLM areas in Sandwash Basin, Vermillion Bluffs, Irish Canyon, Cold Spring Mountain and Douglas Mountain as well as Brown's Park and the Routt National Forest. Best riding is spring, summer and fall. Contact the Moffat County Visitor Center for more information or request a trail guide with our convenient form.
